Let us see
about Aparigraha is the last sub division in Yama, the first branch of Yoga
Islam and Aparigraha
Aparigraha - Avoiding possessiveness; not longing for others’ property
Holy Quran prescribes
circulation of wealth across the whole social spectrum
.
This is an important dimension of emphasis on developing Islam
into a wide-angled charitable disposition.
As such the purpose is to ensure that wealth does not remain
confined to a few rather it keeps circulating
and percolating to the needy and downtrodden
Islam has, therefore,
prescribed Zakāt, Sadāqat and other forms of charity including Fitrā and
Sadaqāt Jāriā.
Zakāt is compulsory and others are also almost compulsory..
Prophet Muhammad (Sal) insisted and ensured that however huge
may be the wealth he received it is doled out on the same day – no savings not
even a single coin for to morrow
Holy Quran prescribes that whatever is left over after taking
care of one’s personal needs and his dependants’ need should be spent on
charity to eligible relatives, orphans, needy persons, wayfarers and those who
ask.
And Almighty promises a bounty for amount spent on good cause
Circulation of wealth among the community is an instrument of
restricting hoarding and amassing wealth.
Hoarding of food grains is viewed as a
grave sin in Islam
Aparigraha is further insisted in Islam by prohibiting interest,
a social evil destroying economy
Islam hates miserliness and warns misers will be punished
severely in the next world
Niyama, the second main division of yoga- code for individual
discipline has 5 branches.
First among it is Soucha
