Al  Fatihah (The Opening) is the first  of 114 chapters of Quran .

Not only first it is of utmost importance. It is called the essence of Quran

It is an essential part of all Muslim prayers and religious ceremonies.. No solemn contract or transaction is complete unless Al Fatihah is recited

So it is called “Seven of the oft Repeated Verses)

The meaning of this Chapter is

		1. In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. 2. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, 3. The Beneficent, the Merciful. 4. Master of the Day of Judgment, 5. Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help. 6. Show us the straight path, 7. The path of those whom Thou hast favoured; Not the (path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray.

"... The Qur'an cannot be translated. ...The book is here rendered almost literally and every effort has been made to choose befitting language. But the result is not the Glorious Qur'an, that inimitable symphony, the very sounds of which move men to tears and ecstasy. It is only an attempt to present the meaning of the Qur'an-and peradventure something of the charm in English.
