Islam and Yoga – 26

Islam and Iswara Pranidharan  -
Living in the Remembrance  of Almighty  for ever

The Prophet (pbuh) said: "He who remembers his Lord and he who does not remember his Lord are like the living and the dead." –
"The house in which Allah is remembered and the house in which Allah is not remembered is like the living and the dead."

Allah the All-Mighty has said:
"Therefore remember Me. I will remember you. Be grateful to Me and never show Me ingratitude" - Al-Baqarah 2:152
And He said:
"And remember your Lord by your tongue and within yourself, humbly and in awe, without loudness, by words in the morning and in the afternoon, and be not among those who are neglectful." - Al-Araf 7:205

A true Muslim lives in the remembrance of Almighty always. Right from the moment he wakes to the moment he goes to bed   not a single second pauses without remembering HIM
Almighty is remembered while waking up, entering in and getting out of bath room,
During ablution , before and after drinking or eating anything, commencing any activity, deed or journey and after completing it, while entering  his or others house and coming out, sitting, standing before and after family life and so on
Islamic meditation is called Dhikr in which in a group or alone one goes on chanting Almighty’s name by mind and tongue hours together.

Iswara Pranidharan is the fifth (last ) subdivision of  Niyama, the second major division of Yoga
Let us see Islamic view  about other major divisions of Yoga
