Nostalgic Notes

Ludhiana

Ludhiana is an important industrial city in Punjab. In such places price of all commodities will be on the higher side. But Ludhiana was a pleasant exception .We got tasty fresh food at a very reasonable rate

Still the taste Bathi tea is lingering in my tongue and mind. –a very big glass tumbler full of milk with a little tea decoction added to it- just for one rupee
Aroma of pure ghee will fill our nostrils when we descend the steps of a hotel underground – again good quality and cheap price

Once we ordered for Chinese tea – thank God the bearer warned us not to try it unless we are accustomed to it.  Bitter experience with mirchi bonda in Jodhpur made us wiser and we refrained from tasting Chinese Tea

We got branded tea shirt from the factory at half of market price

Sirsa Haryana

We heard about two specialties of place nearby Sirsa
One is the bird sanctuary. The other one is a lorry however big it may be will be dismantled into nuts and bolts within an hour so that nobody can identify it
Some places some scenes and some experiences get impressed in mind but I cannot recollect the place as described below

Hot water spring

Many people were enjoying natural hot water bath In a small tank like structure. Much we hesitated to enter the tank because  the  water looked muddy and sludgy .But once we entered, the bath was so pleasant and refreshing that we did not  feel like coming out
Nearby we visited a garden – very beautiful view of little white flowers filling the ground – we enjoyed

Orange Grove

First time in my life (and perhaps last time) I visited Orange Grove of very vast area. Full of ripe fruits it was a magnificent beautiful sight to see..
Among the branches of the tree was an attic furnished with pillows, pads and bed. A very senior citizen was sitting inside very comfortably with a cup of hot drink in his hand
It was a severe winter but inside the attic was so warm and comfortable, I felt it was a stage of mature knowledge and wisdom about life. The old man very lovingly compelled me to drink .Only when I said I am a Muslim he felt sorry and stopped his compulsion
Another beautiful scene in another village- lot of peacocks dancing with plumage spread out
Normally bankers take transfer to North India as a punishment. But I enjoyed every moment of life in Jallandar and travel to various places in different states and learnt many lessons of life
Before concluding Jalandahr notes one small informationr : The way the milch animals are treated – fan, Air Cooler and even AC  for them . And in winter warm clothes – their standard of living was better than many human folk
