JAMMU 1.

As Inspection manager I had a chance to go to branches in Punjab  Haryana Rajasthan and J and K

I learnt and expeienced something novel and new in each travel of which  a few I'll share with you

1Jammu ( J&K. )

Safron trees fog mist snow falls imagination goes wild with the word Kashmir
But Jammu is totally different
with almost normal weather
.As the name implies the state is a combination of Jammu and Kashmir regions. Srinagar is 500 km away from Jammu

There is a very big guest house run by  state government with very spacious rooms like a house but no room service at all.
 Very much I wished to visit Srinagar but there was nobody to accompany me
 Delicious Pear fruit at very cheap rate was available in Jammu  one wooden box full of Pear just for 15 rupees
Frequent power cut was  very common in Jammu resulting in roaring sale of candles. I purchased one candle of 3 ft height from a. factory just for fancy

It was amazing to see robots working in a factory weaving very costly wollen fabric (.30 years back )

 Since Jammu is very near to Pakistan border ,
Armed force will be kept in ready position
There are people who will run to Pakistan for a fee and get you american medicines not available herre

Jammu is the winter capital of the state .The entire government machinery moves from Srinagar to Jammu during winter and back to Srinagar after winter . a reminder of British Legacy

Basmati rice of good quality  at a cheap rate and delicious mutton kabab are a few of specialities of Jammu
